Avoiding cross contamination can be fun and easy!

One of the helpful hints we picked up early on was avoiding cross-contamination. For example, spreading wheat bread with peanut butter and then using the same knife to spread it on the GFCF bread. You end up with little bits 'o wheat in the peanut butter jar, ruining the benefits of all your hard work to stay gluten-free. At our house we have adopted a "separate but equal" policy where we keep two separate jars of peanut butter to avoid this. We keep our commonly-used GFCF sandwich making supplies in a nifty basket to help the organizationally challenged members of the family keep the GFCF and wheat products separate.

And in the event laziness prevents them from getting back into the basket, we label them to keep them safe outside their natural habitat. Over time these labels have taken on a life of their own. What does GFCF mean to you?
